Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week Event

Empathy plus action positively impacts our neighborhoods. In the Callowhill neighborhood, organizations like Bethesda Project and Philabundance work to support the needs of neighbors facing housing and food insecurity while the Friends of the Rail Park work to engage diverse residents, bridge communities, and promote inclusivity through its park. Join these organizations for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week through a community walking tour, starting at Bethesda Project’s Our Brothers’ Place and ending with a boxed meal at the Rail Park, that shares the history of the Callowhill neighborhood and the work happening to support those experiencing hunger and homelessness. Those participating on the tour will have the opportunity to reflect on these issues together, which we hope to capture and include in the Rail Park’s time capsule project.

This event, hosted by Bethesda Project, Friends of the Rail Park, and Philabundance, will take place on Saturday, November 20th, 2021, at 11am departing from 907 Hamilton Street. The ticket price is a suggested donation of $25 per person and includes a boxed lunch sponsored by Philabundance’s Community Kitchen. Proceeds from this event will support Bethesda Project and Philabundance, two local non-profit organizations.
