Who knew there were so many talented pumpkin carvers in our family?! Bethesda Project held a fantastic Happy Hour event for this year's State of Young Philly expo with Young Involved Philadelphia. Carving Change was a happy hour pumpkin carving contest held at the
PHS Pop-Up Garden on South Street. All our pumpkin artistes came out with the same goals--to crush the competition and #makechangehappen for Philadelphia's most vulnerable individuals. Liberti Church gave us 40 sugar pumpkins for painting and RevZilla donated over 50 pumpkins for carving, which their employees spent all day gutting for our Carving Change Craftsmen and we were stunned to sell out of every carving pumpkin we had on site!
Our top three winners (pictured at right--1st place was taken by a duo!) surely wowed us with their skills and we think it is safe to say that a good time was had by all!
Special thanks to Liberti Church, Revzilla and superstar volunteer Hannah Morgen for coordinating materials for this event, Young Involved Philly for accepting our outlandish #SOYP17 RFP, and the PHS Pop-Up Garden on South Street for handling the boatload of pumpkin scraps our party produced!
